Check in/check out times

Check in time is after 16.00. Check out is 10.00

Catering

The chalet is self-catering however the office can be turned into a bedroom for use by a live in chef if required although a quick search on the internet will reveal a number of local alternatives. Our chalet manager is a chef by training and although he is not available to cook full time, he can prepare a few meals if required.

Transportation

By far the easiest way to arrive is by driving from UK or hiring a car at Geneva airport. Your own car (or cars) is essential at the chalet, depending on numbers. Lifts are between 10-15 minutes drive, the nearest supermarket is 10 minutes and although the free bus does stop in the village it is infrequent and an uphill hike on the way back from the stop.

children

Children are more than welcome and we can provide high chairs although no baby cots. Worth noting the stairs do not have safety guards and there is an open fire.

minimum / maximum stay

There is a minimum stay of 4 nights, BUT for certain weeks of the year (Christmas. New Year, and February half term) there is a minimum booking of 7 nights and specific arrival or departure days. Outside of those dates you can arrive/leave on any day which sometimes helps to beat the queues at Geneva airport

payment terms

A 30% deposit is required to secure a booking with the balance due 6 weeks prior to arrival. An invoice will be sent.

Note there is a standard charge of €500 for cleaning, laundry and general assistance.

cancelation policy

Full refund of deposit within 30 days of booking, unless within 6 weeks of rental starting. After that loss of deposit.

50% refund of the final payment up to 3 weeks prior to booking. After that 100% loss unless an alternative booking is confirmed, in which case a full refund.

Amenities

All the bedrooms are supplied with towels, fluffy white robes (adults), hair dryers and toiletries. Bedsheets are fine cotton and we have a few non-allergenic pillows should they be required.

Wifi / signal

There is Wi-Fi throughout the chalet although a little patchy in some of the upstairs bedrooms.

Washing Machine

There is a washing machine, a dryer and a large drying room for wet ski clothes.

Pets

Sadly we must decline any pets.

Consumables

When you arrive, there will be a stock of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, olive oil, tea, etc. etc. We ask you to replace what you use like for like.

Local host

Your hosts who look after the chalet live close by and they will be your first port of call for any questions/problems.

Driving

The chalet is about 1¼ hours from Geneva airport on a good day although this can be longer at weekends. It takes about 8 hours from Calais plus stops.

Morzine lifts are 10 minutes as is the nearest supermarket.

Please remember that French regulations require you to have 4 wheel drive and snow (not just winter) tyres or to carry chains. You also need to carry a high viz vest, warning triangle, a licence, insurance and V5.

Wheelchair access

Regrettably the chalet is not able to accommodate wheelchair access. There are stairs to each level.

Do I need 4x4?

No, but they are highly recommended in the winter. While snow ploughing around Morzine is highly efficient, nevertheless it is a statutory requirement for non 4x4 to carry snow chains. Furthermore 4x4 require snow tyres (not just winter tyres). After a heavy snowfall parking at Ardent can prove difficult without 4x4.
